Why is it so difficult to maintain new habits?

It is because there is a division between the present -where we are- and the future -where we wish to be. As human beings, we consciously work against change!

If we want to direct our lives, we must take control of our consistent actions. It's not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently. - Tony Robbins

Our Identity: Our identity is formed unconsciously by our environment. When we grow and progress towards a goal, the former identity starts to challenge that growth.

NEW HABITS DISRUPT OUR CURRENT IDENTITY and every molecule in our body tries to cling to its former self.

To help with this, you can ask yourself: "What is the new identity I want to create?"

  • Specify the outcome you hope to attain.

  • Make a new identity for yourself.

  • Take daily action in alignment with the new identity.

Our Mind: We are gratification-driven beings. The comfort zone is challenged by new habits. To help with this, reward yourself with something each time you finish a task.

Our Body: Our body wants to be comfortable (where it is) and take the easy path. Review your eating patterns, reduce artificial food intake, hydrate your body, and walk 30 min. daily.

Our Beliefs: They create internal set points. When you try to grow, these set points hold you back. Determine, accept, and develop new setpoints that align with your objectives.

Our Emotions: They are influenced by outside circumstances and make you react in a way that doesn’t match your new habits. Emotional control is essential for creating new habits. Practice reducing stress and anxiety.
